SportyTV has officially joined DStv and GOtv, giving subscribers in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana access to a brand new 24-hour sports channel. The channel launched on 10 June 2026 and is already live on select bouquets across all three countries.

Here is what this means for fans and what they now get to watch.

Where To Find It

In Nigeria, SportyTV airs in HD on DStv channel 236 and GOtv channel 58. It is available to DStv Yanga and GOtv Jolli customers. In Kenya, it sits on DStv channel 237 and GOtv channel 58. In Ghana, it is on DStv channel 237 and GOtv channel 36.

Content may differ slightly per region, but the channel runs around 750 live sporting events every year.

What Fans Will Get To Watch

Football makes up a big part of the lineup. SportyTV carries the English Premier League, Carabao Cup, EFL Championship, Women’s FA Cup, LaLiga, the Spanish Super Cup, Bundesliga and Serie A. South American football is also covered, including the Copa Libertadores, the Argentine league and Brazil’s Serie A.

The channel goes further by carrying dedicated club channels too. Real Madrid TV, Arsenal TV, Chelsea TV and Manchester City TV are all part of the package, giving fans of those specific clubs more content beyond just match days.

Beyond football, SportyTV also covers leagues in Greece and Saudi Arabia, plus basketball programming that includes the NBA.

Why CANAL+ Made The Move

David Mignot, CEO of CANAL+ Africa, said the addition strengthens what subscribers already get on DStv and GOtv. He described SportyTV as a valuable addition to the DStv Access and GOtv Value packages, adding that it expands sporting events available to customers at an accessible price point.

Rendani Ramovha, Director of Sport Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa at CANAL+, said the new channel complements SuperSport’s existing programming rather than replacing it. According to her, it broadens the overall sports offering with more live events and supporting content.

What Sporty Group Says

Sudeep Ramnani, Founder and CEO of Sporty Group, said the partnership lets the company reach more African households with a global sports offering. He described the goal as combining live sports, ongoing storytelling and access to some of the world’s biggest clubs and competitions.

Elias Gallego, Vice President of Business Development, Marketing and Media at Sporty Group, added that the launch makes watching sport more accessible to fans across the continent, calling it a way to connect viewers with exciting sporting moments from around the world.

What This Means For Subscribers

For Nigerian DStv Yanga and GOtv Jolli customers, this adds a full sports channel to their existing package without needing to upgrade to a more expensive bouquet. Fans who already pay for SuperSport now get an extra layer of football, club content and other sports on top of what they were watching before.

Anyone unsure if their current package includes SportyTV should check channel 236 on DStv or channel 58 on GOtv to confirm access.
